Using Open Access Research Discovery Solution Dimensions to Increase Research Outputs & Visibility for KLISC Members

This workshop was presented to the academic community and members of the Kenya Libraries and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) where Open Access Research Discovery Solutions, Dimensions by Digital Science, was introduced. The workshop was held on 17th June 2022 and had representatives from universities such as South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU), United States International University (USIU), Rongo University, Masinde Muliro University, Umma University, Daystar University, and other institutions.

Agava Stanislaus, Chief Librarian at Tangaza University College, welcomed the members and commented on how KLISC has worked towards navigating the changing scholarly publishing and science communication landscape through highlighting resources available and capacity-building initiatives with organizations such as TCC Africa for its members.

TCC Africa has been working with KLISC for almost 6 years sharing with them various Open Access Solutions that they could use to support their academic community.

VP Academic Sales EMEA at Digital Science, Mr. Daryl Naylor gave a comprehensive demonstration of how the audience can utilize Dimensions in improving research outputs access and visibility.

Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) was established in 2003 with the main objective of collective subscription to electronic resources to cope with the increasing cost of information resources. The consortium draws its membership from University Libraries, Research institutions, Public/National Libraries. The collaboration between Training Centre in Communication and KLISC has allowed them to continuously champion for the adoption of Open Science and Open Access.
