During the event with the main theme focused on “Science Cooperation- Taking NRENs Further, TCC Africa’s executive director, Ms. Joy Owango, talked on ‘Open Science African Perspectives Through Strategic Partnerships and Its Impact on Democratizing Knowledge’ During her talk she emphasized the key interventions being implemented by TCC Africa and its partners- the Public Library of Science (PLOS), the Association of African Universities(AAU), the East African Science & Technology Commission, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in promoting the adoption of Open Science principles and practices at the institutional, national and regional levels in the continent.

The purpose of the high-level participation at e-AGE22, which included leaders from Arab countries as well as representatives from national, regional, & global organizations, was to investigate the possibility of collaborating in scientific research & to launch a scientific conversation by utilizing technological infrastructures that are robust &environments that are open.

The e-AGE conference is an annual conference presented by the Knowledge E Foundation. The e-AGE22 was the 12th edition and was hosted by ASRT, the Egyptian Academy for Scientific Research and Technology in Conrad Cairo Hotel, Egypt from 13-14 December 2022, with “Science Cooperation - Taking NRENs Further” as the main theme of the conference.
