Dr Abba Zubair is the Medical Director of Transfusion Medicine and Stem Cell Therapy at Mayo Clinic Florida and Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. His Division includes a Blood Bank that supports one of the largest liver transplant programs in the world, a state-of-the-art Clinical Apheresis Unit and a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) registered cGMP Stem Cell Therapy Laboratory.
Dr Zubair is a certified international inspector of bone marrow transplant centres and blood banks for the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). Dr Zubair is also the Associate Dean, Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences.
