London & Lilongwe, April 2023: AfricArxiv and PeerRef have agreed to work together to promote and coordinate open peer review of preprint manuscripts authored by African scholars.
Over the past 18 months, AfricArXiv, Eider Africa, eLife, PREreview, and TCC Africa have collaborated to develop a peer-review training workshop called Open Peer Reviewers in Africa, tailored to the region-specific context of African researchers.
AfricArXiv – pan-African Open Access portal will establish ORCID-facilitated multi-stakeholder consortia for efficient scholarly knowledge sharing from Africa, utilizing scholarly repository systems (OSF, Figshare, ScienceOpen, PubPub).
The TCC Africa - AfricArXiv Partnership will enrich both organizations’ collective capabilities and expertise to enhance open science, open access, research communication skills and capacity building amongst scientists and other scholarly stakeholders on the African continent.
