African Centre for Climate Actions and Rural Development (ACCARD) Initiative”, was established as a legal and national entity in 2019 under the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Abuja, after promoting for over seven (7) years, environmental and climate activities, as well as projects in the Niger Delta, Nigeria, as Centre for Environment and Sustainable Livelihood Projects (CESLP). One of its many projects has the Theme “the State of the Niger Delta Environment.” The programme, among others focuses on youth capacity development and involvement, as well as, the community participation in environmental management. ACCARD strongly believe in “Attitudinal change” and as such, it is committed to building environmentally conscious societies in Africa, and raising future leaders by a “catch them young” approach. The Centre also campaigns for good governance and policies implementation in partnership with notable Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), academia, government and international organizations, as well as multi-nationals operating in such communities.
